The History Archive Portal (HAP) is a digital gateway to online primary sources from around the world. HAP is the result of a unique collaboration between the History Program and the Library at the University of Wollongong (UOW), Australia. It provides students, teachers and researchers with guided access to digitised primary sources - including historical documents, photographs, newspaper articles, artworks and material culture - from many places and historical periods.
The portal directs users to Open Access and subscription-based primary sources from government, private and university archives. The collections included are global in scope and span the ancient, pre-modern and modern periods. Staff and students at the University of Wollongong constantly expand and modify HAP by adding new archives, highlighting ones of particular interest, and improving its search functions.
Browse All Archives or search using Tags or Location to see at a glance what the portal holds. Select Themes or Subjects to explore archival collections that reflect teaching and research specialisations at UOW. Enjoy!
